TYPICAL SESSIONS / SESSION OPTIONS
Each session is unique and dynamic -there is not a set script. This allows for the sessions to evolve as it is needed for each participant to receive the interaction needed for their personal growth. We do not determine ahead of time which horse we will use, the horse will choose.
The horse will also determine the structure of the treatment. The facilitator will then be a bridge between you and the horse. The facilitator will guide you through some exercises to help uncover and integrate the awarenesses that are uncovered during the session. Sometimes you will be actively involved in exercise with the horse, other times it is more of an observation. Some tasks may include- brushing a horse, putting on a halter, getting the horse to go over or around an object or having the horse move in a certain direction. The sessions are also non-directive in nature, which means the facilitator is there as needed, but the focus is the participant discovering what works best for them. This allows for greater opportunities to problem-solve and be creative alone with improving self-confidence and self-discovery. The facilitator will help to create an environment where participants discover what works best for them-- letting go of the “right or wrong” mentality that hinders creativity. When the participants discover things for themselves it will help them to become more empowered.
